The department was established in 1974 and is still the only department in
the country, which offers Master's degree in Anthropology. One of the features of this
program is compulsory fieldwork training of about six months, at the end of which the
student is required to write a dissertation. The students have to live in their respective
research site, which are mostly rural sites. At the end of the research, students write
M.Sc. thesis. This department consists of 8 faculty members. These faculty members also
supervise field research and thesis writing. |
