The department of Economics, established in 1968,
offers M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs. The distinctive areas of study include economic
theory; Quantitative Methods particularly Econometrics; International Economics especially
trade and monetary aspects; and Economics Development with special reference to national
issues and problems. Besides a number of specialized courses in the areas of Human
Resource Development, Public Finance, Applied Economics and Pakistan Economics are
offered. The Master's degree is also offered in an evening program run on self-finance
basis, since fall 1994. The department has its own Library and Computer Laboratory.
One international Conference was
held during May, 1997. Scholars from five Countries presented their research paper in this
Conference. Overall 22 papers were presented, out of which 8 papers were presented by the
Department faculty and students. |
